The RX 9070 XT needs no introduction; it sits at the very top of our best GPUs roundup because it’s a great GPU for 1440p and even 4K gaming. In traditional raster, it pretty much matches the RTX 5070 Ti across all resolutions, and is only about 10% slower when it comes to ray-traced workloads. Nvidia does have a richer driver suite with things like DLSS 4.5 (and the dreaded DLSS 5 on the way) and RTX HDR, but AMD’s FSR 4 isn’t far behind anymore.

Moving on to the other half of the deal, the Ryzen 9 9850X3D is a powerhouse of a CPU, featuring 8 cores and 16 threads backed up by 96MB of X3D-powered L3 cache. The chip is clocked at 4.7 GHz but can boost up to 5.6 GHz thanks to the 3D V-Cache being stacked underneath the CCDs on Zen 5.
