This post details an easy 4.5 km circular evening hike to Theresienkapelle in Ratzen, Schwarzenberg, ideal after dinner. Starting from Panorama Hotel Sonnhalde, the route offers magnificent views over the Schwarzenberg valley and surrounding mountains.
The hike is dog-friendly and stroller-friendly (using the road route only), mostly on even paths and roads with a short forest section. For dinner, Gasthaus Hirschen is recommended. Hikers should walk on the left side of asphalt roads for safety. This enjoyable walk provides gentle movement and stunning scenery, making it a perfect after-dinner activity.

From Theresienkapelle in Ratzen, you can enjoy magnificent views over the Schwarzenberg valley and its surrounding mountains. After having enjoyed a nice hearty dinner, this after-dinner walk will give your body some movement. In Schwarzenberg, I can highly recommend Gasthaus Hirschen for a casual fine dining experience. The route is absolutely dog and stroller-friendly (with a stroller, use the road route only, and directly start from the hotel and don’t go downwards towards the cows). It’s an easy hike on even roads with just a minimal part using a path through a little forest. You will definitely enjoy this!

4.5 km evening hike to Theresienkapelle in Ratzen / Schwarzenberg – my route
This hike to Theresienkapelle or Kapelle Hl. Theresia is a circular route. First, you are walking down from the hotel, before going up again towards Ratzen. Once you have enjoyed the views from the small enclosed sitting area at the cute little Chapel of St. Theresa, you walk down again before a slightly ascended walk back to Panorama Hotel Sonnhalde in Schwarzenberg. You are both close to nature on this route but are still walking on an even path or driving roads. Be careful on the part that leads you via the asphalt road, and walk on the left side of the road so you see the traffic that’s driving towards you! (instead of being surprised by cars overtaking you – you want to see them coming!)
