Borussia Dortmund are potentially in the market for an attacking midfielder this summer, and AS Roma’s Matias Soulé features on the Bundesliga side’s shortlist, Sky Germany understands.
Initial talks have already taken place between Dortmund and the Argentine’s representatives regarding Soulé, who scored six goals and provided five assists in 33 Serie A games as Roma secured a return to UEFA Champions League football for the upcoming season.
The 23-year-old reportedly has a release clause between €25m and €30m, although the Ruhr club face competition from Premier League clubs.
With Julian Brandt departing Dortmund upon the expiry of his contract after seven seasons, Carney Chukwuemeka slowly working his way into Niko Kovač’s plans and Samuele Inácio still developing, Dortmund’s interest in Soulé isn’t too far fetched. Additionally, reports originating from Italy suggest that Roma are open to selling Soulé as they look to raise funds before 30 June.
